Abstract

The article sheds light on position of Pakistan as an Islamic Democratic state, Islamic teachings on status of non-Muslims’ worship places in an Islamic State, legal status of non-Muslims’ worship places in Pakistan and related challenges. The study is based on historical review research method, which aims at discovering the legal status of non-Muslims’ worship places in Pakistan, unearthing the related problems and suggesting possible solutions. The findings of the research reveal that the non-Muslims’ worship places are granted respect and protection legally in Pakistan. Moreover, Pakistan’s non-Muslim citizens can renovate their old worship places and in particular situations they can also seek permission to construct the new ones. The conditions concerning non- Muslims’ worship places in Pakistan is ameliorating since last few years and it will further improve with implementation of the proposed solutions.
