Abstract

Western thinkers have given abundant definitions of personality. Among these thinkers, brain and psychology experts from various fields, including the fields of personality development, human resource management and management sciences, as well as theoretical and the experts of theoretical & experimental psychology and neuroscience are also included. Their deifinations are surely different from each other but Being related to a primary sources and roots they can be echoed by some definition. The phinomina is that all these definitions are made in terms of personality skills, habits and institutional capabilities.  All these definitions do not seem to deal with the inner self or the human soul behind this external personality. Only the individual expression of attitudes is called personality or character, which is the cause of many scientific and theoretical fallacies and one of the main reasons for the conflicting theories and definitions of modern psychology regarding personality.  While in the Holy Qur'an, personality is called Nafs and it is defined as both outward and inward.  According to the Holy Qur'an, the soul consists of the body and the soul along with the intellect, heart and sight.
