Lessons Derived from Maghāzī Rasūl: Special Study of ‘Umrah Qaẓā’, Ghazwah Mu'aṭṭah, Ḥunayn and Ṭā’if)

Abstract

The study of battles and war expeditions of Prophet Muhammadﷺ was an important and instructive aspect of uswa-e-hassana. History and attitude of nations always denied this reality that the lesser quantity of nations lessen its status as well. The numbers do not matter to protect one’s right, success in war, political and moral domination and national greatness. Often it happens that less in numbers dominates the greater in numbers. The number is not an icon of success. The factors -which are necessary to achieve the goal, if found in few people -win success. Enthusiasm in few people is indeed much more than people in a larger number. Seerah of Rasool Allah ﷺ is named as ghazawāt (battles of holy Prophet ﷺ in one aspect, therefore the books of Sīrah became famous in name of Maghāzī earlier, but the battles of Prophet ﷺ were extra ordinals unique in the history of mankind because during these battles and war expeditions few lives were lost, in spite enmity dignity and respect of human blood was preserved historically. Therefore it is tried that why in this script the battles of holy Prophetﷺ were unparalleled and unique? What is their nature? What plans were made in war? And what is the secret of success in these battles? All this information we can get from reading Sīrah. Therefore, below were discussed the four battles from battles of holy Prophetﷺ i.e. Umra Qaza, ghazwa-e-Maw’ta, ghazwa-e-Hunain, and ghazwa-e-Taif and tried to reach their actual purposes and to expose the practical aspects of problems and commandments lies in these battles.
